TRADITIONAL MARKETING

Traditional marketing is the “old school” type of advertising, even in today’s internet age it should still be an important part of your advertising campaign. The most commonly used venues for traditional marketing are print advertisements (such as magazines, coupon books and billboards), commercial spots (either on the radio or tv), direct mailings or printed materials (such as postcards, brochures or catalogs).

Traditional Marketing is Important for your Business

It’s important for your business to cover all aspects of advertising. Marketing Provisions knows that there is a large audience that prefers all or some aspects of traditional marketing.  Magazines and newspapers are still being sold. Radio is still being listened to and tv is still being watched. There are a lot of avenues to getting your business in front of people.

People still like to shop and talk to a salesperson, whether it is in a store, business or trade show. These one-on-one meetings can be a way to create loyalty to your business and provide word of mouth advertising as well.

What does Traditional Marketing Do?

Traditional marketing can entice potential clients to your physical location (think coupon book or newspaper ad), it can help your logo or slogan stay in the minds of consumers (think billboard or promotional item), and it can show off your company’s sense of style or humor (think tv or radio commercial).

Broadcasting

Broadcasting is the creating of an audio or video ad and distributing it to the media, such as radio, television and the internet. Broadcasting is not for targeted audiences but rather to a general audience or a portion of a geographical area.

Broadcast advertising is a very effective way to advertise your business. TV advertising is a great example of effective broadcasting. Think of the commercials during the Super Bowl – the next day everyone is talking about them. Ads that entertain, capture people’s attention or have a catchy jingle will linger in a person’s mind and they will remember your company the next time the ad is shown.

The same can be said about radio advertising. If it is entertaining people will remember it and your business. Both TV and radio advertising are called mass marketing, because they are broadcast to the masses.
